"Back to the Future"

The theme this week by Craver which is "Back to the Future". Mac, Kathy, Sandy, Craver, Lew and I have a little contest to show a new theme header each week. We now post anytime before 4 PM EDT on Wednesdays and voting begins after that.

My friend Craver came up with a neat subject. I thought about it and of course thought of the movie of the same name. No DeLoreans available so what to show? I decided to show a log cabin that was brought "Back to the Future" from 1808.
The log cabin was built in 1808 in New Lisbon, Ohio. It was founded as a German newspaper. It was the first newspapers west of Pittsburgh, PA. In 1809 it was changed to English and called The Ohio Patriot.
The log cabin has been updated with a ramp for handicap entry. It also has an updated roof with shingles, air conditioner, modern windows and electric lights. It has been brought "Back to the Future".
It is located on Route 43 in Kent and is in the Davey Arboretum across from the Davey Tree headquarters.
This is a bench that has that has the look of 1808.

"OVER THE RIVER"

The theme this week by Kathy which is "Over the River". Mac, Kathy, Sandy, Craver, Lew and I have a little contest to show a new theme header each week. We now post anytime before 4 PM EDT on Wednesdays and voting begins after that. As you can see there have been some changes and the group has changed.

I was thinking of showing the Cuyahoga River but instead chose the Niagra River at Niagra Falls. I wanted to show a view Over the River which showed the Canadian Falls. This is what I chose for my header.
This is looking over the river at the American Falls. The rainbow was neat.
The Maid of the Mist with a lot of mist from the falls over the river.
This was a view from the bridge looking over the river to the two falls.
A little closer view over the river.
See what the others have to show on my side bar list.

The Fall scene is everywhere and it is Orange.
This is an Orange clock at Ray's.
My wife likes to decorate with Orange.
